Evaluate the international strategy that the firm you are studying has followed in the last ten years, and its current strengths and weaknesses as a multinational.

We are asking you to put yourself into the position of an executive who has been asked to undertake a competitor analysis and report to his/her line manager.
Assume that you are working for a fictitious firm which is a major competitor in the same business sector as one of the firms listed below (the identity and nationality of the firm you are working for is not important, but you do need to make it clear at the beginning which of the firms you are analysing).
Evaluate the international strategy that the firm you are studying has followed in the last ten years, and its current strengths and weaknesses as a multinational.
Feel free to incorporate management tools like SWOT analysis. You might also wish to consider whether the company is likely to be taken over or split up, and/or where you might expect its next moves to be.
You might also wish to consider issues that could affect it such as country risk, the demographics and economic prospects of its home and primary overseas markets, opportunities in emerging markets, etc.
Your report should be based on a mixture of sources such as company websites and annual reports, market intelligence reports, media reports, and academic articles.
Remember that you should read critically; in particular, you should be cautious about company websites and media sources that obviously do little more than quote company press releases, since both these may effectively be vehicles for their corporate communications strategies.
All sources should be referenced in Harvard style with a list of sources consulted at the end.
An essay is inappropriate for this task and a report format must be adopted.
You should bear in mind that your line manager is a very busy person and the report should be laid out in such a way that it is easy for her to skim-read it and grasp the main points that you wish to make
