Hobbe's Social Contract Theory
Paper Assignment: In The Leviathan Hobbes argues that society requires absolute sovereignty if it is to survive and avoid falling into chaos or revolution. He seems to assert that individuals are morally obliged always to obey the sovereign. Write a minimum three page paper presenting Hobbes’ argument and present reasons why you agree or disagree with it. In presenting your case you may use one or more of those whom you have read thus far in the semester (i.e., King; Zinn; Aristotle; Augustine; or, Aquinas)
