HOW TO LAND YOUR FIRST ORDER ON UPWORK AND OTHER FREELANCE WRITING WEBSITES

Having interacted with numerous newbies in the freelancing industry, I realized that their biggest challenge is landing a job on the various freelance or online writing sites. They expressed their concern of failing to bid for a job successfully. A majority of those I have interacted with have found it impossible to be assigned their first tasks. It is also important to note that a majority of the freelancing website require the writer to bid for the jobs. There are only a handful of the sites that allow writers to take the jobs that they want to work. Getting on the job on the websites that allow one to take orders rather than bid for those jobs is as easy as swallowing food. You only need to click a button, and you are ready to go. It is because of the problems that the young writers go through that have prompted me to write an article that will explain to them what they need to do to get their first job on the freelance writing websites.
REPACKAGING YOURSELF
The most common sites where young writers find difficult to land a job is Upwork, Guru, Freelancer, Studybay, Studypool, Essayshark, etc. these are some of the most common freelance writing websites. These sites are known as bidding sites because one has to ‘bid’ or in other terms, write proposals, cover letters or any other appropriate message to convince the client or the support to assign you the order. You should also know that there are so many people who are bidding for the same job. You should, therefore, package yourself the right way. The question is how? Read through

  • Read to understand the question before placing your bid for the task.
  • Always tell the client what they need to hear.
  • Include your skills to match the skills the client is looking for.
  • Make the client prefer you over your competitors by telling the client that you have worked on similar projects before. Even if you have never worked on similar tasks before, ensure that you use jargon specific vocabulary. This will make the client believe that you are the best fit for the job.

I will provide an example to help you understand
