Task
The essay will require you to examine social and evolutionary psychological theory to a real life application, issue, or problem The essay should address your chosen topic in 2 ways

1. Critically assess the extent to which social and/or evolutionary psychology can explain the phenomena you address. Can the application/issue/problem be explained using social or evolutionary psychological theories? If so, which theories offer the best explanation, and why? If not, what is unexplained, and what does it mean for social or evolutionary psychological theories? For example, how can group behaviour be explained using social or evolutionary theories? If so, which theories offer the best explanation, and why?
2. Address the extent to how well social and evolutionary psychology could be applied in the area, and, if studies/examples exist, how has social or evolutionary psychology been applied to the area/problem. For example, how can we use what we know about the social/evolutionary psychology inform strategies or campaigns aimed at reducing prejudice towards women in our everyday lives?

The title of each essay mentions both social and evolutionary theories. Your essay should mention both but you can choose to focus on either social or evolutionary views if you choose to. As long as you show awareness of the other approach you can focus your essay on either social or evolutionary theories. Just be clear at the start of the essay why you focus on what you do.
